Mr. Short has developed parent programs for probation departments and Child Protective Services based on Emotional Intelligence. Mr. Short holds an LPC and is a Nationally certified counselor. He is also certified in Emotional Intelligence through EI Learning systems- Texas A & M Kingsville
Mr. Cano is certified in Adventure Based Therapies. He is the creator and owner of Nueva Luz Counseling Services . Mr. Cano holds a license as a Professional Counselor in the State of Texas. He has been in private practice for over 10 years. His experiential approach to personal / professional growth is a major contributing factor to the programs we have defined within this site.
Dr. Ybarra studies how people understand and make decisions about the social aspects of the world versus those related to tasks and work. He studies how people make decisions about others and the cognitive biases that may preclude creating social connections. Some of his work includes how social interaction and relationships support and enhance cognitive abilities and performance, and how the cognitively stimulating nature of social interaction is affected by trust, asynchrony, and inauthenticity in one’s approach to others. More on Ybarra
Mr. Rick Ruiz holds a Master of Divinity degree form the University of Chicago. He has been involved with pastoral counseling for over 18 years and has been involved with parent training, teaching Emotional Intelligence skills for more than 5 years. Mr. Ruiz is quite an asset to our team.
